Nelson fire appearing under control

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 11 February 2019

Firefighters think they may have turned a corner in the fight to control the Nelson fire. About 3,000 people are out of their homes but Fire Emergency New Zealand think it's unlikely there will be more evacuations. It's the seventh day that firefighters have been battling the blaze. Fire Emergency New Zealand incident controller John Sutton says he is feeling confident about the day. RNZ reporter Andrew McRae is at the cordon just outside Richmond.
