Pride Parade goes ahead with community funding

From Morning Report, 8:51 am on 11 February 2019

About a thousand people marched in a Pride parade from Albert Park to Myers Park in Auckland on Saturday. It took place despite the police pulling out after officers were asked by the event organisers not to wear their uniforms. That request, in November, led sponsors including Vodafone, Westpac, BNZ, ANZ, Sky City, Fletchers and NZME to pull their support for the event. The march went ahead with the help of community fundraising. Susie Ferguson talks to Auckland Pride chair Cissy Rock.
