Fears are being raised that a proposed tax on online companies could backfire and leave New Zealand consumers out in the cold. The Government is preparing to introduce a new tax on multi-national firms making money from customers in this country which is tax-free. But some commentators are warning this could spark retalitory action which could not only limit consumer choice but also have wider trade implications.
