Voyage marks 250 years since first Māori-Pākehā encounters

From Morning Report, 8:55 am on 21 February 2019

It's been two 250 years since the first encounters between Māori and Pākehā in Aotearoa, and it's just been announced a voyage will take place as part of the commemorations. Waka hourua, New Zealand tall ships, the Endeavour replica, and naval ships will go on a three-month voyage around the country from October to December. Voyaging expert Hoturoa Barclay-Kerr is the co-chair of Tuia Encounters 250, which is organising the commemorations.
