Outrage over rise in children uplifted in Porirua

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 26 February 2019

People in Porirua want Oranga Tamariki to keep its hands off local children after a sharp rise in children taken into state care. Figures obtained by RNZ show 68 local children were removed from their parents in the last financial year, up from 40 the year before. (and 29 year before) As our Maori News Correspondent Leigh-Marama McLachlan reports, the agency has a bad reputation in the community for lacking cultural competency and taking kids too quickly.
