Petition launched after Merivale retirement home decision

A Christchurch woman is petitioning Parliament to ensure residents of retirement homes can't be left homeless at short notice. Merivale Retirement Village's rest home is going to be demolished and residents have been told that there aren't enough beds for all of them in the new home being built to replace it. That means some residents, including a 92 year old, have to move out. Former Christchurch city councillor and organiser of the petition, Ali Jones, speaks to Philippa Tolley.
