Schools opposing changes accused of misinforming parents
Schools opposed to proposed changes to the education system are being accused of misinforming parents about what's proposed. In December the Tomorrow's Schools taskforce argued competition was damaging schools and children from poor backgrounds were being short-changed - and suggested reforms to reduce out-of-zone enrolments and guarantee jobs for new graduate teachers. However some schools staunchly oppose the proposals. Dr Cathy Wylie is on the Government's Independent Taskforce to Review Tomorrow's Schools.
