Insurer quitting Wellington may hit mortgages - Patten

The biggest player in the insurance market, IAG, is no longer insuring houses for new customers in Wellington. It's already been revealed IAG is no longer offering contents insurance to renters. Now Earthquake Recovery Minister Megan Woods says IAG - the parent company of insurance brands State, AMI and NZI - has told government officials it's no longer offering home or contents insurance to any new customers.
