Pike River families group signs confidentiality deal

From Morning Report, 6:13 am on 14 March 2019

A group representing most of the families of Pike River mine disaster victims is defending a confidentiality agreement it's signed with the agency in charge of the mine re-entry operation. Bernie Monk, who's been the spokesperson for many families since the disaster, has quit the Pike River Families Reference Group, saying he wants to be able to speak freely. Anna Osbourne, whose husband Milton died in the explosion, is a member of the group and tells reporter John Gerritsen the confidentiality clause is justified.
