Hamilton mayor accused of electioneering over beggar billboard

From Morning Report, 7:54 am on 14 March 2019

Hamilton's mayor Andrew King has been accused of electioneering by commissioning and paying for a billboard asking people not to give money to beggars. The billboard uses the council campaign slogan "Your Help May Harm" and has his name on it. While it's a council-sanctioned slogan it's not a council-sanctioned billboard - which has irked at least two councillors who plan to run for mayor this year. They want the cost of the billboard counted as part of Mr King's campaign spending. Andrew King speaks to Susie Ferguson.
