Teen refugee recalls horror of Syrian war, eight years on

From Morning Report, 7:35 am on 15 March 2019

WARNING: graphic descriptions. The searing memory 18 year old Syrian refugee Radwan Loulou has of the Syrian war is the smell of burning corpses. It's eight years today since the war broke out and it's still raging today - then Radwan was just 10 years old, living in the coastal town of Baniyas. After a four day massacre, he and his family fled the country for Egypt before being accepted as refugees here. They arrived in New Zealand four years ago this week. Susie Ferguson speaks to Radwan at his home, about when the war first arrived at his door.
