St Kents stands down new rugby players after investigation

From Morning Report, 8:17 am on 25 March 2019

An Independent panel has found a planned boycott of Saint Kentigern by ten rival rugby schools, breached the rugby code. Last year schools across Auckland threatened to not play against Saint Kentigerns in the first fifteen competition amidst allegations of player poaching. The private school complained to College Sport Auckland about the boycott, which then appointed a panel to investigate further. The panel deemed the boycott was a breach but also raised concerns over the school's targeted recruitment. The college has since agreed to stand down all new-recruit rugby stars for at least six games adn two students will be stood down for any semi-final and final games. Tim Castle was on that panel. He talks to Philippa Tolley.
