New Waiho River bridge a logistical challenge

From Morning Report, 8:35 am on 29 March 2019

The Transport Agency is wrestling with how to get massive pieces of a Bailey bridge transported to the West Coast. At east 16 trucks will be used to move parts of the new structure to the site on the Waiho River where a bridge was washed away on Tuesday. Franz Josef local Logan Skinner told Morning Report that the agency had failed to act on his warning about the bridge's vulnerability. But the agency has rejected his criticisms. Pete Connors is the Transport Agency's systems manager. He talks to Philippa Tolley.
