Solomon Islanders prepare for general election

From Morning Report, 8:37 am on 1 April 2019

Monday is the last day of campaigning in Solomon Islands ahead of the National General Election on Wednesday. It is the country's first since the departure of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands almost three years ago. The mission, which started in 2003, brought an end to a bloody ethnic conflict that left over 200 people dead or missing, tens of thousands displaced and the national economy crippled. Fast forward two decades and post-conflict Solomon Islands is preparing for the biggest test of its security and stability so far. RNZ Pacific reporter Koroi Hawkins is in the capital Honiara.
