Protesters march to TCDC council ahead of climate change vote

Protesters are gathering in Thames where the Thames Coromandel District Council is about to vote on whether to sign up to the Local Government Leaders Climate Change Declaration. It's been described as an aspirational document that recognises councils have a part to play in mitigating climate change. But the district's mayor Sandra Goudie says she doesn't support it because of the potential cost to ratepayers. She told us she was too busy to talk to us this morning, but 14-year-old school student Helena Mayer talks with Guyon Espiner.
