National wants greater powers for police

National MP and former Police Minister Judith Collins is calling for the police to be given new powers to crack down on gangs and guns. After a Mongrel Mob leader said gang members would not willingly surrender rifles under new gun laws, Police Minister Stuart Nash told Morning Report police would take firm action. But Ms Collins says police should be able to go into gang houses whether they know for certain illegal guns are there or not. She speaks to Guyon Espiner.
