UK Muslim group teach NZers to spot extremism

From Morning Report, 6:19 am on 5 April 2019

A British organisation is out on the streets of Christchurch teaching people how to spot extremism and answering questions from curious locals about what Islam actually is. The City Centre Da'wah was formed in England 10 years ago and has centres in the UK, US, Norway and Australia. One of its members, Aqil Abu Umar, says the days and weeks following a terror attack are a crucial time because people, especially young Muslims, are emotional, vulnerable and may be swayed into vengeance. He says radicals could be using this time to push their views on to New Zealanders.
