Lawyer helps Christchurch attack victims get financial help

From Morning Report, 6:40 am on 9 April 2019

A Christchurch lawyer is hoping to make it easier to get financial help to victims of the March 15 attacks. Duncan Cotteril law firm partner Andrew Oh met with leaders from Al Noor and Linwood mosques on Monday, who have received offers of support from other Muslim communities and private organisations around the globe. He is helping them make a plan to get the financial assistance to those who need it most. Mr Oh told RNZ reporter Katie Todd that there is a lot of pressure on mosque leaders at the moment - including his neighbour, Ahmed Iqbal Jahangir, who has been trying to help victims while recovering in hospital from a bullet wound in his shoulder.
