$4m housing plan for Christchurch marae

From Morning Report, 8:45 am on 17 April 2019

A $4 million plan to build half a dozen houses at an Ōtautahi (Christchurch) marae marks the end of a long fight for iwi to live on ancestral land. The government has announced it will build six homes at Tuahiwi marae near Kaiapoi, and will repair 60 houses in the region. But it comes after decades of not being allowed to build there. RNZ Māori news correspondent Leigh-Marama McLachlan reports.
