From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 24 April 2019

One of the pilots who rescued the helicopter crew who'd swum ashore on Auckland Island after their chopper crashed into the sea says he feared for the worst when he set off on his mission. Lester Stephens, Andrew Hefford and John Lambeth were on a helicopter which went down in the subantarctic ocean on Monday night. They managed to get to shore and were found on a beach on Tuesday morning. Guyon Espiner talks to Snow Mullally, one of the pilots who rescued them. He describes the moment the three men were spotted.
