No change for customers in NZ after Google crackdown - Huawei

Confusion reigns over the future of Huawei phones in New Zealand.

Google has announced it will limit the software services it provides Huawei after a White House order last week that restricted the Chinese company's access to American technology.

Technology commentators here have suggested that if Huawei phones can no longer receive security updates, then owners should return their phones to retailers and get a refund.

Andrew Bowater is Huawei NZ's deputy chief executive. He talks to Corin Dann.
