Fears China will tighten grip on Hong Kong after protests

The Chinese government has issued a strong condemnation of protesters who stormed and vandalised Hong Kong's government buildings calling the act "totally intolerable".

A small group of protestors forced their way inside the Legislative Council building after ongoing demonstrations against a proposed extradition law got out of hand.

Hong Kong's chief executive Carrie Lam followed China's lead in condemning the protestor's actions.

Our correspondent in Hong Kong Patrick Fok tells Morning Report producer Jeremy Wilkinson that there are concerns China will tighten its grip on the city in retaliation.
