Police union urge govt to fix gaps in gun licence vetting

Two people were shot dead in the past decade by people who were granted a New Zealand firearms licence despite having been convicted of crimes in Australia. Police figures show more than 600 people with convictions in Australia were able to get a firearms licence in the past ten years. Of those, 37 went on to commit an offence involving a firearm, including the two homicides. RNZ political reporter Charlie Dreaver has the details.
