Tertiary enrolment rates fall by a third

From Morning Report, 8:17 am on 12 July 2019

Men have been opting out of tertiary education at a greater rate than women and polytechnics are bearing the brunt.

Ministry of Education figures show the percentage of the adult population enrolling in tertiary education has dropped by about a third in the past 10 years and men's participation rate has fallen faster than women's.

RNZ's education correspondent, John Gerritsen, has been looking at the figures and speaks to Corin Dann.
