Farmers offered big ETS discount

Farmers are being offered a 95 percent discount when they're brought into the emissions trading scheme but sector leaders say there are better ways of reducing agriculture's climate impact.

The Interim Climate Change Committee wants farmers to start paying the cut price rate from 2025.

Environmentalists are calling it's a taxpayer-subsidised sweet-heart deal and say more action is needed now.
