VIDEO PREMIERE: 'Settle' by Eb & Sparrow

From RNZ Music, 10:00 am on 5 October 2017

'Settle' is the brand new track from alt-country darlings Eb & Sparrow. This version was recorded live at Wellington's Avalon Studios, in their Mr Winter Studio to be exact - the band's second home.

Eb & Sparrow are currently touring, with shows coming up across the country:

  • Saturday 7th October - Auckland Americana Festival
  • Sunday 8th October - Hawkes Bay Arts Festival
  • Friday 13th October - Lucky Bar, Whanganui
  • Saturday 14th October - Meow Bar, Wellington

'Settle' is about the regret and renewal that comes from a burned-out relationship and what happens in the aftermath, according to the band's Ebony Lamb.

The group have added a brass section for this song bringing their five-piece to seven.

The song was engineered by Andrew Downes (Marmalade, Fur Patrol), with visuals by Folkyeah’s Jenn Hadley.

Ebony says it brings together the layered elements of the seven-piece, which range from Chris Isaak's vulnerability to Cowboy Junkies' space, all with a Tex-Mex spin.

The performers include Ebony Lamb (songwriter, singer, guitar), Gram Antler (electric guitar BV’s), Chris Winter (bass BV’s), Bryn Heveldt (lapsteel), and Justin Barr (drums), with special guests Sharon Boyd (trombone) and Andrew Leggett (trumpet) who are the current brass section of Wellington's The Raskolnikovs.
