After COVID-19 stopped Kiwi Ella Monnery from competing in popular Australian TV singing competition The Voice, she’s back with her debut single, ‘Work That’.

Ella Monnery had returned home to New Zealand after winning her “battle” round in The Voice, when COVID-19 restrictions stopped her from returning to Australia to complete her participation in the show.

Unfazed, Ella went to work in the recording studio, and has just release her debut single ‘Work That’.

The song was penned by Kiwi musician and producer Vince Harder, who’s best known for his track ‘Everything’, a chart-topping collaboration with P-money.

At just 23, Ella Monnery has quite the musical resume.  She’s part of the lead touring cast for Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, she’s been performing her own ‘Diva Tribute’ shows on cruise ships both here and abroad, and she’s been a guest vocalist with a bunch of Kiwi bands including Sola Rosa.

‘Work That’ reflects Ella’s outlook on life, and her “desire to chase her dreams while staying true to herself”.

The song’s high energy music video was directed by Shae Stirling, who’s worked with the likes of Stan Walker, Snoop Dogg, Brooke Fraser, and more.

One of the video’s highlights is the intense choreography by Kayla Paige from Kiwi dance company Momentum Productions.
