Kia ora! This Sunday on Aotearoa’s dedicated radio show with pictures to arts and culture, Standing Room Only (12.30pm to 4pm) our musical theme is patupaiareke, fairies, elves, goblins and gnomes: the fairy folk. They’re caught up in some historic body snatching in an art installation in Takaka.

But we start with a key discussion on a survey showing artists are often being paid below the living wage - with Creative New Zealand, NZ on Air and artists Jo Randerson and Jan Hellreigal. There’s also a focus on indigenous artists: Hone Kouka is on the Laugh Track, Merata Mita on At the Movies, and Ana Iti and Dean Cross are involved in a cross Tasman-indigenous exchange.

Type designer Kris Sowersby has got a unique collaboration with poet Hera Lindsay Bird, and we explore the history of the Auckland Region's longest running theatre company Auckland Music Theatre. Our writer is Julie Lamb interviewed by a 10 year old fan and our  Drama at 3 is The Good Seed on the Land by Stephen George Walker. Mark Amery presents stepping in for Lynn Freeman.
