Breakaway union supports right to strike

About three-thousand junior doctors will continue striking today in what they say is a bid to protect safer working hours in public hospitals. Those taking industrial action are part of the Resident Doctors' Association, which represents resident medical officers throughout New Zealand. But - it's not the only union that junior doctors can join. The Specialty Trainees of New Zealand was set up as an alternative to the Resident Doctors' Association in 2017.
