Police are urging two witnesses to an assault on a woman in Upper Hutt yesterday to contact them.
The 21-year-old assaulted woman told police she saw one of the witnesses was also assaulted, just before the man approached her while she was walking along Pine Avenue about 2.30pm.
He ran away towards Savage Street afterwards.
He has been described as Pakeha, in his 40s, and was wearing a dark grey knitted hoodie and dark coloured pants.
Police were also appealing to anyone else who may have information to contact them.
