Driver granted name suppression over wrong-way death

An elderly woman who last month drove the wrong way down a Wellington motorway, killing a motorcyclist, has been granted interim name suppression.

The car was heading south on 29 December, in the northbound lanes of State Highway 1 near Johnsonville.

The 25-year-old man the car collided with died at the scene.

She will next appear in the Wellington District Court on 11 February.
