The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Christchurch mosque attacks may provide financial assistance for those asked to give evidence.

The inquiry headed by commissioners Justice Sir William Young and former diplomat Jacqui Caine started last month.
Commission staff met with the Islamic Women's Council earlier this week over the secrecy of the investigation and the lack of legal help for community groups involved.
A spokesperson for the Commission said it is now considering recommending support for people participating in the inquiry in a way that is consistent with the Inquiries Act.
They said its meeting with the Women's Council will help inform that thinking.
The Act states funding can be allocated if a number of particular conditions are met.
