Police are calling for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Whangārei in which a child was killed.
The 10-year-old boy from Whau Valley Primary School was crossing Kamo Road near the school at 8.10am yesterday when he was hit by a truck.
He died at the scene.
Whangārei police believe there are witnesses to the crash who have not yet come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or was in the area just before or after the crash.
The truck belonging to roading contractor Fulton Hogan has been seized for forensic examination.
