A man has died after being found seriously hurt at property in the Taranaki town of Hāwera.
Detective Senior Sergeant Debbie Gower says police were called to a a disorder incident about 10pm on Monday on Gladstone Street.
The person died from their injuries later, police said.
A homicide investigation has been launched and the scene was being examined.
A post-mortem would be carried out in the coming days, Gower said.
