The Green Party today released its ministerial diaries showing its co-leader met with Gas New Zealand in April to discuss the government's ban on future offshore oil and gas exploration.

The diaries show party co-leader James Shaw met with Gas New Zealand in April to discuss the implications of the ban and today released the quarterly diaries of its ministers and under-secretary as promised earlier this year.
The diaries were released for the party's three ministers, and one under-secretary.
They state who the meeting was with, the date it was held and a very brief description of the reason for the meeting.
James Shaw met with a variety of people in the three months to the end of June, including Federated Farmers, Business New Zealand, environmental groups and representatives from the oil and gas sector.
He also met with Labour's former deputy leader and minister, Dame Annette King in late May to discuss the "ministerial experience".
Mr Shaw's office said Dame Annette made the offer to meet, which Mr Shaw accepted.
The office said the meeting followed on from her speaking to new incoming ministers late last year as part of an induction process.
The other two Green Party ministers did not meet with Dame Annette.
Eugenie Sage met with a range of conservation groups and experts, and sat down with telecommunications company China Tianying at the end of June.
In March the party banned its ministers and staff from accepting corporate hospitality, such as free tickets to events unrelated to work.
