After deciding to bat first New Zealand scored 418 and then bowled the homeside out for 112 to take a 2-0 lead in the three match series.

Playing without captain Suzie Bates, the New Zealand innings was setup by opener Sophie Devine who top scored with 108 - her century coming off just 59 balls.

"You get in the zone and don't think about how many balls you've faced or runs you've scored." says Devine.

"It's getting on and making sure that the team keeps the total ticking over."

"It's pleasing to put in a knock like that but I definitely wasn't counting balls."

Maddy Green made 50, Amy Satterthwaite 48, Anna Peterson 46 and Bernadine Bezuidenhout 43.

The tourists then bowled Ireland out for 112 in the 36th over.

Lea Tahuhu, Holly Huddleston, Amelia Kerr and Anna Peterson all took 2 wickets each.

New Zealand won the first game by 346 runs after scoring a world record 490 runs.

The third and final match is Wednesday night.
