Football: All Whites on the move

All Whites striker Kosta Barbarouses is leaving Melbourne Victory after turning down a contract extension with the A-League football club.

The 29-year-old finishes his second stint with the A-League club with 161 appearances and 51 goals between 2013-16 and 2017-19.

His time with the club includes the historic domestic treble season in 2014-15, in which the forward proved crucial to Victory's A-League Premiership, Championship and FFA Cup title wins.

He also scored the winning goal in the 2017-18 Grand Final against Newcastle Jets to secure a fourth championship for the club.

Barbarouses has been linked to Sydney FC for next season.

Meanwhile the All Whites goal keeper Stefan Marinovic has signed a two year deal with the Wellington Phoenix.

The 27-year old returns to New Zealand having played in Germany, Vancouver and most recently Bristol City in the English Championship.

Marinovic replaces Filip Kurto who has moved to the A-League expansion side Western United.

Marinovic began his career at Auckland City before being signed by third-tier German side SV Wehen Wiesbaden, followed by stints at FC Ismaning, 860 Munich Reserves and SpVgg Unterhaching. In total, Marinović had 100 league appearances in Germany.

He then played for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS in 2017 before heading to England.

He first played for the All Whites in 2015 and has since established his first choice status with the International side going on to make 24 appearances including World Cup Qualifiers, International Friendlies, and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Marinovic will link up with his new teammates when pre-season commences in July.
