The White Ferns coach Bob Carter is stepping down from the role after New Zealand failed to make the Cricket World Cup semifinals.

The 61-year-old's confirmation of the decision to media comes after the tournament hosts finished the group phase with four losses and three wins.
Carter will return to his former role in high performance with New Zealand Cricket.
Despite the Ferns performance, and several senior players coming towards the end of their international careers, Carter is confident the team is not in danger of falling behind their rivals.
However he admitted the White Ferns coaching staff and players were all disappointed they were unable to reach the knockout stage of the tournament.
"I think we're moving ahead. If it hadn't been for two or three results... we obviously would be in a better position," Carter said.
"Now that I've had this experience, I can take it back to high performance."
Carter said he would like to do more for the women's game after his two-and-a-half year stint in charge.
"I can really now help to grow the female game as part of my general role."
A tournament highlight for the hosts was opener Suzie Bates becoming the first New Zealand woman to reach 5000 one day international runs.
