Marcus Norman is a casual presenter in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland who comes to us with a wonderful range of arts experience and lots of stories to drawn on.

He's a clarinettist and arts manager and a proud graduate of New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, Victoria University of Wellington and Royal Northern College of Music (UK).

Marcus has performed with the Christchurch Symphony, Hallé and Mahler Chamber Orchestras, and has appeared on live solo broadcasts with BBC Radio 3 and Chandos records.

A proud Pettman DARE Fellow, Marcus later transitioned into management roles with Opera North (Leeds), Southbank Sinfonia (London), and recently as General Manager of the New Zealand String Quartet.

Marcus has spent time hanging from trapeze and working on his aerial silks as interim General Manager of The Dust Palace, Aotearoa’s leading circus theatre company and school.

He was delighted to join the RNZ Concert presenting team – a station that he says has provided the soundtrack to many a life moment over the years.

Marcus Norman joined RNZ Concert as a casual presenter in June 2023.
