Pacific mental health leaders from around the world are in Auckland for an international exchange.

The exchange is part of a partnership between Pasifika provider 'Le Va', Te Pou and Global Leadership Exchange who are hosting the Pacific Behavioral Health Collaborating Council (PBHCC) made up of six US-affiliated Pacific representatives, including Palau, Guam, Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, American Samoa and the Federated States of Micronesia.

The leaders in attendance are hoping to identify solutions to address mental health challenges facing Pasifika people in Aotearoa, the Pacific region and the world.

Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki spoke with Le Va's chief executive, Denise Kingi-'Ulu'ave and the PBHCC's executive director, James Arriola.
