Critter of the Week: Greta Thunberg Freshwater Snail

From Afternoons, 3:35 pm on 4 June 2021

This week’s critter is the Greta Thunberg Freshwater Snail. Less than 3mm big and found in a muddy trickle beside the Cobb Valley Road in Kahurangi National Park, this week’s critter is a tiny snail with a big message. Named after Swedish climate activist, the Greta Thunberg Freshwater Snail is a reminder that all life—no matter how small—is worth fighting to preserve.
