Hawkes Bay update with civil defence controller

Supplies and connectivity are slowly being returned to Hawke's Bay, though around 31,000 people in Napier are still without power.

The region has suffered incomprehensible damage in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle.

Also, sadly, another death has been recorded in Hawke's Bay today as well, bringing the total toll to 7.

1900 people in the region are currently staying in evacuation centres.
