Simon Morris concedes that luck can often play a big part in a movie's success, and looks at three that have varying amounts of it. Death on the Nile is Sir Kenneth Brannagh's followup to his successful Murder on the Orient Express in 2017. It stars Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Annette Bening, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, with Brannagh himself as Hercule Poirot. Blacklight is another Liam Neeson thriller, where once again he plays an undercover FBI agent on the hunt for whoever kidnapped his family. Fortunately he has a very particular set of skills. And Red Rocket is a new movie written and directed by Sean Baker (The Florida Project). Simon Rex plays a loser hoping to revive his shady movie career with the aid of a young girl called Strawberry.
