Queenstown locals face homelessness as development begins

Residents at a Queenstown campsite are facing homelessness as they're kicked out to make way for a billion dollar development.

The Queenstown Council owned cabins at the former Lakeview Camp Ground have been home to many low-wage and migrant workers for years.

But those homes are due to be vacated next month, for a billion-dollar development - leaving many with no option but to leave town, or become homeless.

RNZ Otago-Southland reporter Timothy Brown went along to visit those living at the site.
