Justice system is failing people, needs transformative change

From First Up, 5:42 am on 10 June 2019

"Our justice system is failing people and needs to undergo transformative and sustained change." That's the finding of a new report from the Safe and Effective Justice advisory group - which was set up by Justice Minister Andrew Little. The report spoke to the people who interact most with the justice system including victims of crime, people who have been prosecuted for offending and those who offer support services. Most said they feel the system doesn't deal with them fairly. Reporter Ben Strang spoke with Chester Borrows, who chaired the group and began by asking about how victims find the justice system.
