New Zealand turns tide on plastic production

From Morning Report, 8:47 am on 13 March 2018

New Zealand is turning the tide on the production and use of plastic in a bid to help clean up the oceans. Some scientists estimate that if nothing is done, by 2050, all the plastic in the ocean will weigh more than all the fish that live in the sea. In Auckland on Monday, Environment Minister Eugenie Sage signed New Zealand up to the United Nations' Clean Seas campaign, alongside dozens of other countries who've pledged to dump plastic.
