Ministry backs away from ID-harvesting in youth survey

The Ministry of Social Development is backing away from a proposal to collect young people's names and other details as part of a national health survey. The ministry's plan to collect identifying information from participants has alarmed many in the youth sector. They say forcing young people to provide their personal details would make them more reluctant to honestly answer questions about gender and sexuality, bullying, and potentially risky and illegal behaviour.
