Three New Zealand-Koreans killed in landslide

From Morning Report, 7:36 am on 5 August 2020

Three New Zealand-Koreans have been killed in South Korea after flash flooding and landslides enveloped their property.

RNZ understands that the family - a grandmother, her daughter and young grandson - ran a resort in Gapyeong county in the Gyeonggi Province.

The New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea has named the victims as Mrs Kim, Anna Song and her son, Taeyang Rikiti.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have confirmed the deaths but declined to provide further information.

Last night Morning Report producer Lily della Porta spoke to Reuters correspondent Josh Smith who is in Seoul.
