Election 2020: Jacinda Ardern, Judith Collins face off in first debate

From Morning Report, 7:13 am on 23 September 2020

National leader Judith Collins came out swinging in the first leaders debate last night, not afraid to cut in and directly challenge Labour leader Jacinda Ardern.

She may have been spurred on by the latest 1News Colmar Brunton Poll, which suggests that National, and Judith Collins herself, are still failing to fire up voters.

The debate ranged across growing the economy, farming, health and infrastructure deficits, reducing poverty, and soaring house prices.

Political reporter Yvette McCullough wraps up the debate.
