Grant Robertson on spending plans post-Ardern

From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 26 January 2023

The Government is promising to sharpen its focus on supporting people through cost of living pressures, as inflation persists at 7.2-percent year on year.

Grant Robertson, the finance minister, says the government will focus on addressing "bread and butter issues", echoing the words of his new Prime Minister Chris Hipkins.

He says the government has already offered up support by extending the fuel subsidy and half-price public transport, but both of those subsidies are set to end.

Robertson spoke to Guyon Espiner.
